26th July 2008 - New World Champion At Bridge Of Allan Judo Club
Stuart Mckay,Senior club coach at Bridge of Allan Judo Club has recently returned from Rio De Janeiro after competing at the International Master and Seniors Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Tijuca,Brazil on the 26th of July. Stuart competed in the Senior 1,Azul,100.5 kg category and won Gold. He also won Bronze in the Senior 1 Absolute Open category too. This is an impressive medal haul for the 37 year old instructor who has also this year has won Gold at the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu European Azul Absolute Open category, Bronze in his own weight category in Lisbon Portugal and Gold at the Gracie Invitational Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships in London in May this year. The Bridge of Allan Judo Club season starts back on Tuesday 19th August, the Judo Club operates on Tuesday and Thursday nights,Kids 7.30pm to 8.30pm and adults 8.40pm to 10pm. The massively popular Submission Grappling class operates on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm to 9pm.

1st June 2008 - Max Wins Silver At Scottish Submission Wrestling Championships
A big shout to Chris "Max" McAteer. Max entered the Scottish Submission Wrestling Championshps held at Grangemouth on the 1st June 2008 and left with a Silver Medal. Well done Max!! This was Max's first competition event, he as only been training for a year and was beaten only by a small points margin. Max trains on Wednesday evenings at our BOA Grappling sessions - classes are from 7.30 p.m. till 9.00 p.m.

26th and 27th April - Stuart Wins Gold at the recent Gracie Invitational International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition in London
He's done it again!! Congratulations to Stuart who won gold in the 100.5 kg category at the recent Gracie Invitational International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition held in London on the 26th and 27th April. Stuart is one of our Senior Club Coaches - Judo. Stuart also runs our submission wrestling classes held on a wednesday evening. Well done Stuart.

January 2008 - Stuart Wins Gold at European Championships in Lisbon, Portugal
Serious congratulations go to Stuart Mackay. Stuart, one of the club's Senior Club Coaches won a gold in the Senior 1 Division Blue, Absolute Open Weight category and bronze in the under 100.5kg category at the European International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships held in Lisbon, Portugal, 26th/27th January. Congratulations Stuart!

October 2007 - Stuart Wins Gold at Irish Open
Theres no stopping him!! Stuart McKay from Bridge of Allan Judo club won gold in the -100kg category during the Irish Brazillian Jiu-jitsu Open in St Andrews College in Dublin. Congratulations Stuart!

September 2007 - Stuart Wins Silver at Caledonian Open
Stuart Mackay from Bridge of Allan Judo club won silver in the mens 90+kg category during the 1st Caledonian Brazillian Jiu-jitsu Tournament held on the 29th of September in the Griphouse in Glasgow. He was only beaten in the final in extra time by points by an opponent 14kg heavier than him. Congratulations Stuart!

May 2007 - Stu's Rio Adventure
In May 2007 one of our Senior Club coaches visited Brazil to learn from the source. Stuart spent 2 weeks, training every day. Stuart is pictured below with Leao Teixeira - Gavea Jiu Jutsu - Leao is the Technical Director - International Brazilian Jiu Jutsu Federation.
